Diabetes educators from the Saskatoon Health Regions – Live Well Aim 4 Health
Community Diabetes Program, Ms. Leuschen and Ms. Baxter will discuss strategies for motivating adults with diabetes.

Town Administrator Position
The Northern Village of Air Ronge is seeking a Town Administrator. Reporting to the Mayor and Council, the Administrator works collaboratively with Council by providing sound advice regarding policies, bylaws, budget, and priorities. The ideal candidate will possess technical skills in municipal administration, financial management, and human resource management. The successful candidate will have a minimum Standard Urban Certificate of Qualification in Municipal Administration or will be willing to work towards said certification. Knowledge of MuniSoft, Microsoft Word, and Excel programs will be beneficial. Salary range: $75,000 to $95,000, depending on applicant's qualifications.

Minutes, August 19, 2009
A Synopsis of the Minutes of the Regular Meeting of the Council of the Northern Village of Air Ronge held in the Council Chambers on August 19, 2009.

Present: Mayor Gordon Stomp; Deputy-Mayor Jeff Simpson; Councillors Shane Delaney, Tom Carlson, Terry DesRoches; Administrator Louise Baht.

A quorum being present, Mayor Stomp called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.

Agenda: DesRoches / Simpson That the agenda be approved as presented. Carried.

Minutes: DesRoches / Simpson That the minutes of the regular meeting held July 15, 2009, be approved as read. Carried.

Delegation: R.C.M.P. Cpl. Shannon Haggerty attended a portion of the meeting to present the written and verbal policing reports for Air Ronge. (7:05 to 7:25)

Don Kirzinger attended a portion of the meeting to personally express his concerns to the whole Council about the danger and liability issues regarding the vehicles racing through the park near Avro Place. (7:26 to 7:31)

Jon Evans, employee, attended a portion of the meeting. (7:32 to 8:27)

Speed-bump: DesRoches / Carlson That a speed bump be placed near Gordon Denny Community School. Carried.

Sask. Energy: Delaney / Simpson That the Mayor be authorized to sign the Crossing Agreement between the Northern Village of Air Ronge and Sask. Energy. Carried.

Fleet Street: Carlson / Delaney That a qualified grader operator be contracted to rebuild and repair the road and overgrown, filled ditches at Fleet Street. Carried.

Financial Reports: DesRoches / Simpson That the bank reconciliation statement, the budget-comparison and receipts and payments statements for July, 2009, be acknowledged and filed. Carried.

Accounts Payable: Carlson / Delaney That payment of the accounts, shown on the “List of Accounts for Approval” be approved. Carried.

According to the Village’s audited 2008 financial statements, the total revenue generated for the water and sewer utility system was $318,175. The total expenses, including capital works, totalled $240,599.
